An older consumer unit or an undersized main supply can limit how much power your home can draw, even if the internal wiring is sound. Our electrical distribution upgrade service reviews the entire incoming supply arrangement, the consumer unit, and the circuit protection devices. Where an upgrade is agreed, we replace or reconfigure the distribution board, install appropriate residual current protection, and rebalance the circuits across the available ways. This work is planned around your existing installation to minimise downtime, though a full supply interruption is usually required during the changeover.

The upgrade may involve:

• Replacing the consumer unit with a modern dual RCD or RCBO board
• Upgrading the main earthing and bonding if found to be below current standards
